The Quebec Provincial Association of Teachers, a federation of 10 unions representing teachers in English school boards, invites applications for the position of Executive Director. The date of commencement of duties is expected to be January 1, 2019.
Reporting to the President and the various governing political bodies of the Association, the Executive Director is responsible for the general management of the affairs of the Association and the management and coordination of staff. The Executive Director has responsibility for overseeing the legal affairs of the Association and may be called upon, from time to time, to speak on behalf of the Association.
The successful applicant will possess the following attributes:
- Bilingualism, with a high level of fluency in English
- Teaching experience is an asset
- Background in unionism (education sector is an advantage)
- University degree (advanced degrees an asset)
- Leadership experience
- Knowledge of the Quebec education system
